Chairman of the NCA Reviews the Making of the Garuda Blade which Involves 242 Artisans
BANDUNG – Chairman of the Nusantara Capital Authority (NCA) Bambang Susantono directly inspects the making of the Garuda wing blades for the Presidential Palace of the Nusantara at the Nyoman Nuarta Silhouette Workshop located at NuArt Sculpture Park, West Bandung Regency, West Java on Tuesday (26/9 /2023).
This inspection is a follow-up to the installation of Garuda's first blade during the Working Visit of the President of the Republic of Indonesia at Nusantara on Friday (22/9/2023). Chairman of the NCA Bambang Susantono expressed his hope that all processes, from manufacture to installation, can run smoothly according to plan.
To date, 242 artisans have been deployed who work day and night to make 4,650 blades. Furthermore, if there are no obstacles, the installation of the Garuda blades is targeted for completion in March 2024.
Artist I Nyoman Nuarta explained that his involvement in the design and construction process of the Presidential Palace at Nusantara was motivated by his desire to give the best to the country. Besides that, NuArt Sculpture Park, where the workshop for making the Garuda icon is located, has a development concept that is in line with Nusantara, namely uniting art, culture and nature in everyday life.
"This place is an educational medium about how art, culture and nature can inspire our daily lives," he explained.
This 4ha park is partly used for tourism and partly used to preserve approximately 4,000 trees.
As an artist, he continued, through this sculpture park he also hopes to help encourage the development of the tourism economy and provide many job opportunities while maintaining Indonesia's diverse cultural identity.
"Finally, please pray for your blessing so that everything runs smoothly because the creation of the Garuda blade will be a historic event for our nation," concluded Nyoman.
Also present on this occasion accompanying Chairman of the NCA Bambang Susantono were the Head of the Legal and Compliance Unit Ida Bagus Nyoman Wiswantanu; Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation Mohammed Ali Berawi; and Director of Digital Ecosystem Development Tonny Agus Setiono.
