The initial transfer to the IKN Area (K-IKN) will involve building main infrastructure components such as the State Palace, the House of Representatives/People's Representative Council Building, housing projects relating to the first phase of Public Servant relocation, and the construction and operation of basic infrastructure for the city's initial 500,000 residents. The President of the Republic of Indonesia will celebrate the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's independence at the IKN site on 17 August 2024.
